Social skills and competences As an interior decorator intern it is vital to possess social skills, as you will be speaking with different people everyday. I learned a great deal of understanding and respect for other individuals designing / decorating opinions, and learned to work together with customers and colleagues to achieve the desired effect.

Organisational skills In the interior decorating business it is very important to stay organized. I improved my organization skills and time management skills as an intern and as a student. The more organized I was, the more time I saved, and ultimately had time to take on extra interior decorating projects.

Technical skills and competences As an intern, as well as during my free time I have used a variety of measuring instruments and art tools. These tools range from paint brushes, electronic rulers, electronic screw drivers, and a variety of other small construction tools.

Computer skills and competences I have intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. My skills are more advanced with desktop publishing programs such as Paint, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign. My internet skills are also above average, as I spend a huge portion of my time searching for images and beneficial designing tools.

Artistic skills and competences In addition to my love for the art of photography, I also find great pleasure in the art of dancing. I have been dancing since adolescence and have performed in quite a few talent and dance competitions. I am currently taking dance courses to perfect this talent.

Other skills and competences Besides from my studies, I also possess human services skills and have been working with the elderly for over 5 years now. I am a Certified First Responder and plan to someday pursue a career in nursing or medical assisting.
